reclaiming home

AN ONGOING SOMATIC PRACTICE SPACE

explore with movement, rest in community and feel supported through conversational coaching

Reclaiming Home is your invitation to expand your somatic skills to meet the challenges of our times and find comfort and inspiration in your own body.

Scribbled down on a tattered post-it note years ago, the words ‘reclaiming home’ felt like a life raft, a note to myself and at the time a deep longing to feel anchored and at ‘home’ in my body. Over time ‘Reclaiming Home’ has become something more: A vision for togetherness, a place to liberate ourselves from the oppressive structures that impact our bodies and a practice space where we can all explore what it means to feel a sense of belonging within ourselves and with each other.

There’s a yearning for something deeper. After generations of disconnection and disembodiment, many of us are ready to come home to ourselves—to feel fully present, grounded, and alive in more than just the very tops of our heads. We’re craving connection, community, and a relationship with our bodies and each other that isn’t built on force, extraction, or constant correction.

Embodiment and somatics invite us to experience a different way of being with ourselves and connecting to our humanness. Being embodied helps to heal the mind-body divide and reminds us that we’re a wonderous eco-system of connection not just a sum of separate parts.

We can read, talk, and think about embodiment all we want, but without physical practice, we’re left only with concepts and ideas—often feeling even more separated. True embodiment comes alive when we do the thing, when we experience it in our bodies, moving from knowing into feeling.

“the central component of any change process is practice.

-Staci Haines

The more we practice the better we get at something. What we practice transforms us.

Coming home again and again to the ‘doing’ of physical practice is what continues to deepen and evolve our connection to ourselves and each other.

Movement can show us where we’re stuck in automatic patterns and old habits, the parts that feel a bit uncomfy, unsafe, or too small. It can be a practice ground for what healthy relationship feels like (with ourselves and with others) and it reveals the places we’re ready to expand into.

Our practice shapes how we show up in the world—it changes our minds, bodies, and moods toward new ways of being. It’s where we get to try on a new narrative, emotional orientation, or physical shape.

Reclaiming Home is your invitation to practice what it means to feel at home in your own skin, a place to move, get curious, and create somatic skills that’ll empower you to meet the full spectrum of life’s moments with greater ease. To shape who you are becoming.

This is less about cognitively figuring things out and more about finding a supportive space for the transformation that comes from connecting with our bodies. So the experiential knowledge we gather settles deep into our bones.

reclaiming home might be for you if:

  • You’re someone who finds ease in reading about the thing but you come unstuck with the doing part.

  • You want to explore the experiential side of somatics and embodiment. (teachers, coaches or space holders this is for you too)

  • You want to explore your body's narratives and gently disrupt old habits so you can embrace new patterns.

  • You’re craving movement that feels grounding, joyful and empowering.

  • You want a place to practice together in community to share experiences and feel supported

a soft place to land

You’re invited to gather three times a month to explore and expand your somatic skill set. The practices shared don’t require any particular experience, this is a space designed to be accessible to all bodies. Everyone is welcome here.

You can show up to sessions tired or distracted, you can bring your children, you can come for 5 minutes and play with a movement practice and then leave, but my encouragement is that you come. To show up for your heart that longs for more togetherness and your body that wants to play.

This is a place where we can be held in gentle accountability around our practice, encouraging each other to do the thing no matter how small our actions might feel, so we can keep choosing connection over busyness and distraction.

Reclaiming Home is a co-creative environment where all voices and experiences are valued, where we get to practice divesting from hierarchy and oppressive systems and where feedback is nurtured and encouraged.

Yes, I’m here to guide you but this is about your relationship with your body. This work deepens our resilience, self-trust, and belonging—not only to ourselves but to our community and the world around us. Together, we create a home that nurtures us as individuals and connects us as a collective.

how it works:

Reclaiming Home is an invitation to commit to a three-month container allowing us to follow the rhythm of the seasons and give time to deepen our relationship with each other. We meet for 3 Tuesdays a month at 10am UK.

Week 1 - exploration

In our first 60-minute session, we’ll establish our theme through some easily digestible learning nuggets and then move into practice.

Yes, we're going to talk about it a little bit, but mostly we're gonna do the thing. These sessions will vary but always include movement.

Week 2 - practice

Our second session is about deepening the theme through a full movement session. Bodies first. Language optional.

Taking elements from authentic movement, sensory awareness, improvisation and somatics this will be a guided embodiment session with accessibility in mind. You’re invited to play, explore and meet yourself exactly where you are.

Week 3 (and all weeks) - community

Outside of dedicated practice time, there’ll be extra content in our community space, think podcast recommendations, playlists, article shares and mini-practice invitations.

I’m a lover of nerdy information so if you want to geek out with me this is where it can happen. This is also where you can connect with fellow members.

Week 4 - coaching

In our final session of the month, we’ll gather for 90 minutes of conversational coaching.

A place to talk about our revelations, sticky points, or simply deepen our togetherness. I’m imagining blankets, cosy nooks, and plenty of lounging.

what you get each month:

  • All sessions are recorded and members have access to the recording library.

  • A 60-minute exploratory session around the theme; practice, conversation, learning.

  • A 60-minute movement session anchoring our theme into the body.

  • A 90-minute conversational coaching call.

  • A community space where we can cultivate connection, share resources and support one another.

  • Extra resources, mini practices, journalling prompts and space to ask questions or lean into support.

I’d love for you to join us and reclaim your connection to ‘home’

Membership is offered at £25 per month full rate and £12.50 per month solidarity rate.

You’re invited to use the solidarity rate if you’re unpaid, lowly paid, in financial difficulty, or otherwise unable to afford the standard price without causing financial distress.

Capitalist norms train us to try and extract as much as we can from one another. I want to be fair to you and I trust you to be fair to me and everyone else participating.

some things I believe to be true:

  • Movement that's joyful, nourishing, pleasurable and affirming is the birthright of all beings with bodies.

  • Connecting to the ecosystem of our body can bring us back into right relationship with community, nature and the numinous.

  • Through this relationship we can reaffirm our boundaries, self worth, values and question the shapes we take up in the world.

  • Nurturing a relationship with your body as your guide can help to more clearly define the creation of a future that we want to live in.

 FAQs

  • As this is a new offering it’s hard to say exactly but my intention is always to have your comfort in mind. As someone who thrives and finds greater safety in smaller gatherings, I’m always conscious of ensuring that our groups stay intimate as much as possible.

For group coaching calls once there are more than 12 attending I’ll add a second time option so we can spread out a bit.

  • One of the things I like to highlight about the practice of embodiment and somatics is that they are not supportive of an overnight ‘fix’. Change happens slowly, often imperceptibly, like coral grows in the ocean.
Having a three-month minimum time frame speaks to this cadence and offers a place where we can deepen together slowly and honour the pace of our bodies.

  • Of course I’d love if you could make each session live, there’s a special magic present when we’re all in the room together. But, it’s not always possible, life happens, our capacity changes and shifts, our commitment wanes.
In every space I create my encouragement is always the same - take what you need and leave the rest. Reclaiming Home is designed so that you can dip into recorded practices when it suits you and create a practice that is adaptable to your shifting needs.

  • I know the thought of adding more things to an already packed calendar feels edgy. 3 calls a month might sound too much, I understand that. But let this be a reminder that you can show up however feels supportive. You can join a call from bed, with your kiddos, when you’re working and you want some company. You can do the whole session or just 5 minutes.

There are no hard and fast rules to your participation. I encourage you to choose your own adventure and know that you can be in this space exactly as you are and you’ll be welcomed with heart.

  • Reclaiming Home and the practices we play with are not a replacement for therapeutic support. Somatics and embodiment practices can be wonderful complimentary tools to support your growth and I often work with clients who combine somatic exploration with an ongoing therapeutic relationship. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact me at sara@saraduigou.co.uk and we can speak in more detail.
